- 1 Bottle Red Wine
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Fustinis Cara Cara Vanilla Balsamic
- 1 Orange, zested and suprêmed
- 1.5 inch piece Ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 4 Ripe Pears
- 1 Lemon
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 4 Scoops Ice Cream

- Bring wine to a boil in a saucepan, add sugar to the wine along with the Cara Cara vanilla balsamic, orange zest, ginger, and black pepper.
- Wash and peel pears, leaving the stems on, and cut in half. As soon as the pears are peeled, squeeze the juice of the lemon over them and put the peels in the red wine to infuse flavor. Reduce wine to a simmer and add pears.
- Cook for about 25 minutes until very tender (Longer for less ripe pears), remove to a plate and spoon over some of the wine. Scoop ice cream right over the top.
