Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 cups diced apples, (seeded and cored, but no need to peel)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ cup of heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon Fustini’s Michigan Apple balsamic
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and sugar, then add the egg. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add to butter mixture. Stir in apples and vanilla. Mix well, then place in a greased 8&rdquo, or 9&rdquo, pan and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. There will be more apples than cake batter, so don&rsquo,t worry.
- While it&rsquo,s baking, in a stand mixer, add whipping cream, powdered sugar and Michigan Apple balsamic. Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form, usually about 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn&rsquo,t get too stiff. Add a dollop of whipped cream to the side of your cake as you serve it and enjoy!
